Learning at Charter Nurseries

A curriculum designed

with care and clarity

Our curriculums are rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage and shaped by what research tells us makes the biggest difference in the early years. Each curriculum is personalised bespoke to each setting.

They focuses on rich language, purposeful play and strong foundations for learning, without rushing children before they are ready.

Supporting every learner

How children learn at Charter Nurseries

Children learn through relationships, play and everyday experiences. Our approach focuses on language, purposeful play and social development, building strong foundations without rushing childhood.

Language and communication

Language at the heart of learning

From babies onwards, children are immersed in talk, stories, songs and books. Practitioners model rich language, listen attentively and encourage children to express ideas, ask questions and make sense of their world through conversation.

Strong communication skills are the backbone of learning in all areas.

Learning through play

Purposeful play, carefully supported

Play drives learning. We thoughtfully support children to explore, experiment and discover through hands-on play and engaging activities. Through sustained and open-ended play, children develop early literacy, mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills in natural and engaging ways.

This is how young minds make meaning.

Social and emotional development

Growing confidence and independence

Growing confidence, independence and resilience happens through daily routines, relationships and interactions. Emotional intelligence and social skills are as important as cognitive learning — and we support both intentionally.

We nurture confident, self-aware and capable learners.

Loose parts &

open-ended resources

At Charter Nurseries, open-ended resources are chosen carefully and used with purpose. Loose parts - natural materials, reclaimed objects and everyday items - invite children to think creatively, solve problems and collaborate. They encourage discovery, managed risk and sustained concentration.

What may look ordinary to an adult holds endless possibility for a child. Our teams thoughtfully source and curate materials that spark curiosity and imagination, turning simple objects into opportunities for deep, meaningful play.
